out of your head.
a family hub for the kitchen wall. it shows everyone what's happening — calendars, lists, photos, the things you carry — without another app, another login, or another subscription. one purchase. yours.
built by people who watched their own mums hold it all together and wondered why nobody had built her something that didn't ask anything in return. so we did. it lives on a tablet on the kitchen wall. it pulls from the calendars you already use. it does not phone home. it does not nag you to upgrade. it is, for once, on your side.
no subscription.
one purchase. that's the last money we'll ask you for. no annual fee, no premium tier hiding the features you actually want. updates included.
visible to everyone.
it lives on the wall, so the load is shared, not held by one person. the dryer is everyone's problem now. the permission slip is on the calendar. grandma's birthday is on the calendar with a week's warning.
yours.
your icloud, your google, your photos, your tablet, your house. we connect. we don't replace. nothing is stored on our servers, because we don't run any.
what it shows.
the things you'd otherwise be carrying around. all in one place. all visible.
- calendar. icloud (caldav), google, microsoft 365. month, week, day, agenda. per-person colour. read-only — we never ask for write access.
- weather. open-meteo by default. no api key, no account. bring your own ecowitt or tempest if you have one.
- today's events. a glanceable strip with everyone's day, colour-coded per family member.
- chores & stars. a quiet rewards layer for the kids. mark a chore done, earn stars, redeem from a catalog you control. no streaks. no nagging.
- photos. apple shared album, local folders, or both. ken burns slideshow when no one's interacting.
- your own widgets. bird buddy, ecowitt, tempest, home assistant. drop in any web url. open widget api — build your own or use the community's.
questions worth asking.
how is this different from skylight?
skylight is a closed appliance with a $79-a-year subscription gating the features most people actually want. lifestuff is an android app you install on a tablet you choose. one purchase. no tiers. you run it.
do i have to buy a specific tablet?
no. lifestuff is tested on the samsung galaxy tab s10 fe (11″) and a 24″ android 14 wall tablet, but it runs on any android 8+ device. mount what you already have.
what data leaves my house?
only what your providers already see. when you sign in to google calendar, the tablet talks to google directly. when icloud refreshes, the tablet talks to apple directly. nothing routes through us. optional crash reports are opt-in, off by default.
what happens if you go out of business?
you keep the app. it runs entirely on the tablet. there's nothing for us to shut off. calendar, photos, chores — all of it continues working against the same accounts you set up.
can i edit the layout from my phone?
yes. the companion admin is a small web server that runs on the tablet, bound to your local wi-fi. open the tablet's local url on your phone, pair once, and you can rearrange tiles, add chores, and tune settings from the couch.
is there a trial?
30 days, no questions asked. uninstall and email us — you'll have the money back the same week.
your week, on the wall.
lifestuff is a one-time purchase. bring your own tablet. bring your own accounts. keep your own data.
